Day 7, Week 1 Sailing to Fort Louis

Thomb

We had a wonderful sail as we made our way to Fort Louis. “No helm hogging” was Thom’s message. Since we were going downwind quickly. He wanted everyone to have a little stick time driving the boat in these glorious sailing conditions.

It was a great crew and Thom and Charlie seemed to enjoy seeing each other again. Charlie brought the boat back into Ft. Lewis Marina where the DYC crew eventually met us on the fuel dock. Thom called for the port bow line to be looped over the bollard and brought back to the boat so the boat could be moved sideways up to the fuel dock. Charlie held the boat steady with a touch of assist from Thom. Once the line was secured, the starboard engine did all the work walking the boat sideways to the dock in pretty windy conditions with gusts hitting 20 knots.

It was a great week with a great group of people. Jeanne and I do not have any time off before our next group arrives. We just managed our luggage so the cleaning crew can get the boat ready. We had a final lunch with the first week crew at an outdoor restaurant in Marigot!
