Day 4 – Hope Town, Elbow Cay

Thomb

Unfortunately, we had two options neither of which would be a normal first choice. Sailing, we would’ve been beating right into the wind all day. And, transiting to Man-O-War was out because we could not obtain a slip. Because of the poor weather with high winds the folks at Man-O-War decided to stay put. We decided to stay an extra night.  A lot of the crew was already ashore when we made the decision so we sent out a texts to everyone so that they could enjoy their day.

Hope Town is a beautiful island so a few of us rented bicycles for the day and biked the island.  The island is only about 5 miles long so we decided to bike all the way from one end to the other.  Me, Nana, Paul and Thom rented one speed bikes for $12 for the day.  What a great way to see the island!

Our plan was to head toward Tahiti Beach on one end of the island.  Patti and Doreen had left the boat before us and we ran into them along our route.  We stopped at an outdoor bar not long after seeing them and they caught up to us.  We had a pina colada and watched a couple of surfers, then got back on our bikes and didn’t stop again until we reached Tahiti Beach.  What a great beach!  It had a really long sand bar so we walked in the water.  Captain Tony had anchored his boat near there so we visited with him and his family.  We also ran into Kim and Al (from our boat).

Later than night we made plans to sail to Man-O-War Cay the next day.
