Medical Emergencies at Sea Class. Olaf Harken Passes.
October 24, 2019
Training for Medical Emergencies at Sea

Training to cover on-board medical emergencies and preparations that are more focused on medical issues when 911 is not available rather than survival at sea. The course is led by Hugo Searle, Chief of Emergency Medical Services at the St Louis Park Fire Department. You may have also seen Hugo on board his 38’ Hunter sailing with his family on Lake Superior. He has extensive experience in outdoor medical emergencies, having led groups in the Boundary Waters, and to the top of Mt. Everest.
Classes will be held at the Sailcrafters Loft in St. Louis Park. All classes are from 6-9pm. Class fee is $250.
Course dates:
- Wednesdays 11/6, 11/13, 11/20/2019
- Wednesdays 1/15, 1/22, 1/29/2020
- Weekend class at Wayzata Yacht Club: March 7th and 8th, 2020.
- Sailcrafters is exploring the possibility of conducting a 2-day class in the Duluth area over the winter.
